Situated between Le Dorat and Magnac Laval, hidden down a private lane, this mill is simply magnificent. A huge weir throws itself into a mill race and the island created is just gorgeous, unmissable. Into the property we have a huge fitted kitchen / diner (around 40m²) with the remains of the old mill’s wheels used as ornamental features, tiled floors, exposed beams, wood burner and exposed stone walls make this a simply lovely room. Continuing into the house we have a big sitting room of about 35m² with stone tiles, fireplace with wood burner and two sets of French windows – fantastic, BUT, the best room is actually the big conservatory with double glazed windows all around it giving full views onto the island and the river, fantastic!
Upstairs we have big landing and an outside door, then, two huge bedrooms and a bathroom. At the top of the house we have another two huge bedrooms, each with en-suite, the smaller being around 32m² with a mezzanine and balcony – really, simply, beautiful.
A huge barn holds the master of the house’s train set (!) and a cottage has had half the work done to renovate it into a two bed two bath.
The land is simply gorgeous and the best bit is, it will not flood as the huge field opposite (maize last year), is lower than your land. Quite simply, a ‘best of breed’.
