Situated in the centre of Montmorillon just near the mediaeval bridge, this could be a simply marvellous property – but you’re starting with a blank canvas! Into the house through the centre front door (there are three front doors) we come into a lobby with the old oak stair running up through the house and a hall through to the first back door, leading out onto the river terrace. To the right we have a workshop (should be first bedroom!) and to the left we have two more rooms each with front and back doors (out onto the river terrace, too!).
Up the stairs we have a WC on a half landing and continuing we come to the 1st floor landing with its delightful arched window. To the left we have a basic kitchen with access out onto a balcony with simply gorgeous views up and down the river – this has been built where there was previously a tower which you may receive permission to reconstitute (we have succeeded in doing this before!). To the right we have a sitting room of around 24m² with parquet floor and beyond this, there are two small bedrooms with a ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom, between.
Continuing up the stair we have two good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom and at the top of the house a studio with another bedroom and bathroom. The terrace and the balcony are marvelous – the rest of the house is in need of TLC, for sure, but, what a wonderful place this could be!
